Metal Braces
We offer the very latest in metal braces to our patients, making orthodontic treatment more comfortable and convenient than ever before. Brackets are bonded to the teeth and connected using an arch wire. The arch wire is a thin metal wire, held to the brackets using elastics, or rubber bands. The brackets, arch wire, and elastics all come in different materials and colours, so there are still choices with metal braces to give you a personalized appearance. Once placed, metal braces put constant pressure on your teeth to help guide them into their proper position. During follow-up appointments, the arch wire will be adjusted, slowly correcting the teeth. The length of your treatment will depend on your individual case. Due to affordability and a proven reputation for success, metal braces are among the most popular treatment options.
Ceramic Braces
We use In-Ovation C ceramic braces, which use an innovative free-sliding technology. This eliminates the need for elastic or metal ties, so that little to no pressure is placed on teeth as they are gently guided into place. Both the metal and ceramic braces we use work the same way, however ceramic braces are chosen by patients who would like the added benefit of high aesthetics. With In-Ovation® C system braces, achieving a beautiful, healthy smile is fast and comfortable… an altogether highly attractive process. Our patient friendly design means that you have less chair time, reduced discomfort and far fewer appointments than with older style braces. Plus you have the cosmetic benefits of ceramic translucency – braces that seamlessly blend with your teeth!
Aligners
These aligner trays are made of smooth comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you simply wear over your teeth. Wearing aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place. There are numerous companies that fabricate clear aligners. Invisalign is possibly the most well-known brand, followed by Clearpath.
Note: Not all patients are candidates for this option. It is generally reserved for less complex problems.
What is it? Nobody will be able to notice that you are wearing an invisible, removable and comfortable aligner and therefore you will be able to smile more confidently during treatment as well as after.
How does it work? Each set of aligners needs to be used for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. You’ll visit our practice about once every 4 – 6 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned.
